Rebecca Hart, Senior

Becca is a psychology major from Oxford, Ohio. She has been dancing since she was three and won the best smile award in 2004, at her dance studio. She was co-captain of her team in high school and is a two-year senior Captain of the Furman DanZers. Her favorite Furman team is the football team! Becca also likes to play tennis, and spend time with her friends and family.

The quote she lives her life by is: "With God All Things Are Possible!"

Danielle Lush, Sophomore

Danielle Lush is from Cornelius, NC. She is intending on majoring in Communications.  Danielle has been dancing for most of her life and has been awarded the Coaches award at her graduating high school, and was nominated President of the Dance Team at her high school.  She loves the FU football team. This is Danielle's second year on the team.

Her favorite quote is by Helen Keller:

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."

Jessica Mote, Junior

Jessica Mote is a Business Administration Major from LaGrange, GA. She was an NDA All-American and captain of her high school dance team. At her high school, she won the Best Junior Class Dance Team Member in 2005 and the Best Overall Dance Team Member in 2006. Jessica is a member of the Furman Outdoors Club and enjoys singing, reading, and photography. This is Jessica's second year on the team.

Her favorite quote is, “Be a voice, not an echo."

Julianna Battenfield, Sophomore

Julianna Battenfield, a double major in Political Science and Sociology, is from Virginia Beach, Virginia. On campus, she's an AFS Sophomore Class Senator, and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, RUF, FUSAB, the Leadership Programs, hall staff and Campus Outreach. She danced with Broadway Dance Academy, and performed as a dancer in musicals including Peter Pan as Wendy, Seussical the Musical, and Beauty and the Beast. She received the Spirit of DanZers award in 2008, and this is her second year on the team.

Her favorite quote is: "A woman in her glory, a woman of beauty, is a woman who is not striving to become beautiful or worthy or enough. She knows in her quiet center where God dwells that he finds her beautiful, has deemed her worthy, and in Him she is enough.

Laura Page, junior

Laura is a Communications major from Lincolton, North Carolina. She danced with the GYPSY dance company in Raleigh, North Carolina for one year, and she recently made it through five rounds of the popular reality TV show, "So You Think You Can Dance?" She loves the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team, and going for long runs. She also likes to spend time with her family and friends, frequently attending her brother's street bike races.

Amanda Blau, freshman

Amanda is a biology or chemistry major from Fort Thomas, Kentucky. She's been dancing since she was two performing ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, hip-hop and pom, and she was once selected as Toon Disney's Most Animated Kid in a nationwide search. She enjoys dancing, acting, reading and hanging out with family and friends. Her favorite quote is:

"Do one thing everyday that scares you."

Hannah Claire LaFary, freshman

Hannah is potential history major from Goodlettsville, TN. She was active in studio dance for 14 years, and in high school she was her Varsity Dance Team's captain, and was on varsity for four years. She also danced for the All-Star team for four years, and was a UDA All-Star. Hannah loves to sing, play the guitar, clean, read and write.

Lauren Lytle, freshman

Lauren is a Political Science and Communications major from Spartanburg, S.C. She has had 15 years of training from Miss Marion and Starmakers Dance Company in ballet, jazz, clogging, irish step, tap, lyrical and hip-hop. She was a Competition Dance Team Member, a State Dance Champion, a National Dance Champion, the Talent Winner at Miss South Carolina Teen Pageant, Miss South Carolina Dancer, and she performed on the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Stage and at Disney World.

Her favorite quote is: "It is with passion, courage of conviction, and strong sense of self that we take our next steps into the world. Remember that first impressions are not always correct. You must always have faith in people and most imporantly, you must always have faith in yourself!"

Caitlyn Norling, freshman

Caitlyn is a Biology major from Niskayuna, New York. She danced for 16 years performing ballet and jazz, and she was in 14 annual performances of The Nutcracker. She was a soloist and lead in five of those performances, and she also danced in her high school musicals. She was awarded the Raymond Meyers Ballet Scholarship to dance at her ballet studio, and she loves to do pilates and yoga.
